When I started as an independent escort, there was ONE page of escort profiles on the leading advertising directory for my area. Now, you can scroll forever, and the profiles just keep popping up. And if I scroll for too long, I start doubting myself.
Why would anyone book me, when there is a hot 25-year-old with a perfect body and gorgeous shiny hair advertising for half the price? Not just that, but how do clients even FIND my profile in this infinite sea of ads, when I can’t even find myself?
And I know I’m not the only one. I’ve heard this time and time again. Sex workers say that the market is too saturated, that it’s impossible to make good money anymore because too many people are offering the same thing as them (or maybe even offering MORE and maybe for less).
So, I’m going to say it: Yes, the market is saturated.
Yes, the internet and social media has made sex work more accessible and less taboo.
Yes, there are more sex workers than ever before.
But I also want to say something else: I make WAY more money now than when I started sex work nine years ago.
So, I want to hit this belief on the head and flip it upside down.
If you’re limiting yourself because you think the market is too saturated, then I want you to know that your individual approach, your unique background and one-of-a-kind experiences have NEVER been used. And they WILL NEVER be fully used if you keep falling prey to this lie.
There is enough business to go around, and there is room at the table for your dreams and financial goals.
There’s no such thing as competition. Cliché, but true. No one else is YOU. So, you need to figure out what makes you special. What makes you uniquely YOU? Find those parts of yourself and share them – THIS is what will make you stand out as an individual. No matter what industry you’re in, and no matter how saturated it is.
What’s not being talked about? What services can you offer that nobody else is? Now, I’m not saying you need to offer triple anal with no lube to one-up everyone else… But I want you to think about what your clients come to you for. What do you find yourself thinking in disbelief that more escorts don’t offer?
Take an inventory of what’s out there, what’s missing, what you know isn’t being shared, and what you know your clients are searching for. Find ways to solve a problem that isn’t commonly addressed or create a solution for something that’s been glossed over previously. At the end of the day, you can look at the fact the saturation of the escort industry in two ways: as an excuse to not take action, or as proof that there’s a concept out there that’s working and as a challenge to make your own creative, unique persona and business model.
