Today I’m sharing 5 apps I absolutely couldn’t run my business without. I know, I know – it sounds dramatic. But maybe you’re curious about what my go-to apps are, and perhaps some of the tools I’m using could help simplify your life!
I LOVE this app. It’s no surprise that I love being organised, and this app is my holy grail. Basically, Sorted combines your schedule with your to-do list items.
The app imports items from your calendar (e.g., bookings, doctors appointments, university classes, etc.) Then you can add tasks (e.g., grocery shopping, work admin, chores, errands, etc.) You can assign a duration to each task (e.g., groceries might take 1 hour). You can then fit the tasks in around your calendar items, OR you can get the app to create a schedule for your day automatically.
Seriously, it’s a game-changer.
Money Box basically acts as a goal tracker. You enter your desired financial goal and the deadline, and then you add contributions. I always enter my fortnightly financial goal and update the app each time I do a booking. I love being able to see my earnings easily, and it keeps me accountable and motivated.
Cam Scanner is exactly what it sounds like: an app that converts your phone’s camera into a scanner. The app allows you to snap a picture of an item quickly, automatically edits the photo and turns it into PDF file.
I use this app to snap photos of all my receipts AS SOON AS I GET THEM and then immediately upload them to Dropbox. This eliminates the stress of hunting through a neverending pile of receipts at tax time – everything is neat and organised.
I don’t know how I feel about making Jeff Bezos even richer, but I’m sorry, Amazon Prime is life-changing. If you’re from the US, you’re probably rolling your eyes. Yes, Australia is a bit behind – we only just got Amazon Prime.
The beauty of Amazon Prime is that you can set up subscriptions for products you regularly use. I have things like toilet paper, lube, candles, cleaning products and pet food on auto-delivery. I NEVER have to think about these items, and I NEVER run out. They just automatically get sent to my apartment at the appropriate time.
Tide is a Pomodoro timer. Basically, you choose a time to work (usually 25 minutes) and a break time (usually 5 minutes). You set the timer, work for the allotted time, then take a break for the allotted time.
It’s stunningly simple, but it is a ridiculously good way to get stuff done that you have been dreading. Do you have a pile of emails from clients you just can’t be bothered to reply to? Open Tide, set the 25 minute timer, and tell yourself that you’ll just reply to emails until the timer goes off. You’ll be shocked at how much work you can get done with you concentrate for a solid 25 minutes. The same goes for cleaning tasks you hate doing.

Disclaimer: I cannot, and do not, speak for all sex workers. I speak from my experience of working in a legal brothel and as an independent escort in Australia. Where possible I try to be inclusive. However, I can’t relay every experience of sex work – especially if I haven’t experienced it myself. This blog is for entertainment purposes only.
